This year has yet been another exciting year for Little Bodhi Student Care Centre (LBSCC) with new initiative and programmes arranged for the students and staff.
On the bright sunny day of 25 May 2014, we have for the first time participated in the annual Vesak Day Carnival (慈悲喜捨家庭日) organized by the Buddha of Medicine Welfare Society (药师行愿会). Many organization, businesses and individuals participated in this carnival to assist the charity fund raising, whom the beneficiary includes the Buddhist Free Clinic (佛教施珍所).
LBSCC was there to sell jelly and pudding, donated and made by the staff of the centre. At the same time, the students’ artworks on the Bodhi leaves were put on display. We are glad that the staff and LBSCC committee members were at site to assist too. It is really heart-warming to see some undergraduates from the NTU Buddhist Society came a long way to run the entire ground to distribute the brochures of our centre.
We believe all the people involved have definitely found this a fun and fruitful event. Although this is the first time we have participated with little involvement, this has gone a long way in helping others and ourselves! We have had a good time bonding with each other too.
As the centre is setup to contribute back to the society, we hope with every little effort, we will continue to plant the seed to do more in the future. Let’s put our arms together and start to join us in our upcoming events, continuously benefiting others and improving ourselves!
